Terms & reservations
The terms for booking a stay, kept short and kept fair. Last updated June 1, 2026.
This is sample copy for Marisol, a fictional hotel used in a design template. It is not a real set of terms and it is not legal advice. Do not rely on it for any actual business.
Reservations & deposits
A reservation is confirmed once we have your dates and a deposit of one night's rate. The deposit holds your room and is applied to your final bill at checkout. Until the deposit is received, dates are held informally and may be released to other guests.
Rates & taxes
Rates are quoted per room, per night, in US dollars, and are based on the dates and occupancy you select. Local lodging tax and applicable service charges are added at checkout and shown clearly before you confirm.
Rates can change by season; the rate confirmed at the time of booking is the rate you pay.
Cancellation policy
Plans change, and our policy tries to be fair about it. Cancel free of charge up to 7 days before your arrival date, and your deposit is fully refunded. Cancel within 7 days of arrival and we charge 50% of the total booking.
A no-show, with no notice, is charged the full amount of the booking. High-season holiday weeks have a longer window: free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival, and the rules above apply inside that window.
Check-in & checkout
Check-in is from 3pm and checkout is by 11am. We will always try to be flexible when the house allows it, so tell us your travel times and we will do what we can. Early arrivals are welcome to leave bags with us and use the terrace before the room is ready.
House conduct
Marisol is a small, quiet house, and the rooms are close. We ask guests to keep evening noise down after 10pm out of respect for everyone on the bluff. Pool and surf equipment are used at your own care. The hotel is non-smoking indoors; there are spots outside for those who need them.
Liability
We take reasonable care of guests and their belongings, but we are not responsible for loss, theft, or injury except where caused by our own negligence. Please use the in-room safe for valuables, and let us know straight away if something is missing or amiss so we can help.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your stay is the one in effect on the date you booked. We will post the current version here with its last-updated date at the top.
